Help in a crisis
If you need help for a mental health crisis or emergency, you should get immediate expert advice and assessment.
NHS 111
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or something that makes you feel severely unsafe, distressed, or worried about your mental health, you can now contact your local crisis service by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option.
Crisis Line
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 0800 953 0110. It is staffed by trained mental health professionals who are able to provide assessment and referrals to appropriate services. Ring it if you need to access services or for advice about someone who needs treatment or support.

• you do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a physical one. You will not be wasting anyone’s time.

Information to cope during a crisis
The mental health charity Mind has information on ways to help yourself cope during a crisis.This includes calming exercises and a tool to get you through the next few hours.
Making a safety plan
If you struggle with suicidal thoughts or are supporting someone else, it may help to make a safety plan to use if you need it:
- the Staying Safe website provides information on how to make a safety plan, including video tutorials and online templates to guide you through the process
- the mental health charity Mind also provides information on planning for a mental health crisis
NHS Talking Therapies
Blackpool Talking Therapies offers a range of brief, evidence-based, therapeutic interventions to support people’s needs, this includes; online, telephone and face-to-face treatment options. All treatment is FREE and provided by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This service is open to people aged 16 and over.

The Hub of Hope is the UK’s largest and most comprehensive mental health support directory. It is provided by the national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, and brings local, national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support and services together in one place.

The FYi Directory is a health, social care, childcare and community directory for the Fylde Coast. Is has been created by Blackpool Council and Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS integrated care board.
