Blood tests

If you can have been invited to book a blood test, you can find information about where you can go for your blood test on this page.

At our practices, blood tests & other specimen samples cannot be accepted after:

  • 3pm at Bloomfield Medical Centre
  • 5pm at Grange Park Health Centre

Bloomfield Medical Centre

We offer a drop-in blood clinic at Bloomfield Medical Centre Monday to Friday, 8am to 9:30am. No appointment necessary.

Non-urgent advice: Important

This is only for all patients aged 16 years and above.

Grange Park Health Centre

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm. Booking required.

Community Phlebotomy Service

This service is based in Whitegate Health Centre on the ground floor.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm. Booking required.

You must collect your blood test request form from the GP and take it to your appointment.

Evenings & weekend appointments

This service is based in Whitegate Health Centre on the first floor. Learn more.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 6:30pm to 8pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm. Booking required.

Further information

A clinician will need to complete a referral to Blackpool Urgent Treatment Centre (Whitegate Health Centre) for paediatric blood test. A prescription for numbing cream and dressing will also be issued for you to collect.

You will then need to collect this referral form along with the blood test request form from the practice and follow the instructions on the referral to book your appointment.

You will need to take your referral form and blood test request form to your appointment.
A clinician will need to complete a referral to Paediatrics at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. More information will be given to you by the referring clinician during your consultation.
