MAKE APPOINTMENTS?
Routine Appointments
All surgeries are run by an appointment system. Patients requiring a routine doctor or nurse appointment are asked to telephone 0844 477 8582. We try to offer a balance of appointments to suit patients wishing to be seen soon and those wishing to book some time in advance. Appointments are available Monday to Friday.
Chronic Disease Appointments
Our nursing team is skilled in the management of chronic disease. These nursing appointments can be booked ahead on 0844 477 8582.
Emergency Appointments
The practice offers a triage service where patients requiring urgent attention can either be seen the same day or can speak to an experienced nurse on the telephone. This service operates Monday to Friday. The receptionist will ask for details of the problem - please note she is acting on the doctor's instructions. Do remember these appointments are strictly for emergencies only.
When The Surgery Is Closed
If you require general advice, the NHS Direct 24-hour helpline is available on 0845 4647. If however you require medical attention our out-of-hours emergency service can be reached on 0300 123 1144 . Please remember this out-of-hours service is strictly for emergencies only.
An experienced local GP will always be available to offer advice or visit if appropriate. Alternatively, you may be asked to attend the A & E Department at the Victoria Hospital.. Our out-of-hours emergency service is provided by the local GP co-operative. All our doctors are members.
HOW DO I...
CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT?
If for some reason you are unable to keep an appointment of any kind please let us know by telephoning 0844 477 8582 as soon as you are aware you will not attend. This will allow us to reallocate the time to another patient and avoids wasting valuable nurse and doctor time. You can also telephone the practice out of hours to cancel an appointment by telephoning the normal number 0844 477 8582 and following the spoken prompts.
Failure To Attend
Non-attendance at a psrior booked appointment may prevent other patients from making an appointment. As a consequence, patients who do not turn up for their appointments, having failed to cancel them, may jeopardise their inclusion on the practice list.

OBTAIN HOME VISITS?
If you are too ill to attend the surgery, please phone 0844 477 8582 before 11.00am. The receptionist will ask for brief details of the problem to assess the degree of urgency of your request. The doctor will decide if a visit is necessary by contacting you by telephone. Home visits are intended for the housebound or for those too ill to travel.

OBTAIN TEST RESULTS?
For the results of blood tests etc, please telephone 0844 477 8582 after 2.00pm, when the receptionist will help with your query. Please allow seven days before phoning, unless the doctor or nurse has asked you to phone sooner.
